Pizza Margherita On the Fly

Pizza Margherita On the Fly
Pizza Margherita On the Fly
Pizza Margherita On the Fly

You may note these are not the promised tuna steaks. I was just killing time, watching LOST, when I realized I was supposed to marinate the tuna. I had one hour until Sean needed to go to work; the tuna was not thawed and the recipe said to marinate for 1 1/2 hours. So I made an executive decision to put that off until tomorrow. Hopefully we don't die from mishandling fish.

I decided to whip together a pizza margherita for myself, using the leftover tomato and fresh mozzarella from yesterday's salad. I wish I'd had fresh basil, but alas, I'm not cool enough to have a little garden on my porch yet.

Don't worry though; the cupcake adventure will still take place later today. I'm stuck in the house waiting for a package delivery, so I'll have to keep myself busy.

Title: Pizza margherita, video recipe

From Giallozafferano, the italian most famous food website, a new video recipe: pizza margherita.
Follow us and let's cook an original pizza margherita. The pizza margherita was invented in 1889 by a Neapolitan pizza maker, Raffaele Esposito, on the occasion of the Queen Margherita's visit to the wonderful city of Naples. Esposito expressly created 3 different pizzas, but the Queen appreciated particularly that with tomato and mozzarella cheese: from that moment on it was called pizza Margherita in her honour.
Among pizzas, the pizza margherita is the most simple and beloved, especially by children; prepared with tomato puree, buffalo's milk mozzarella, oil and basil leaves, it can satisfy even the faddiest eaters, provided that you use first-rate ingredients.Prepare the dough for 4 pizzas following our recipe. Pour the tomato puree in a bowl and season it with salt and 4 tablespoons of oil. Once the dough has risen, divide it into 4 parts; take one small ball and roll it out until it becomes a circle of about 12 inches in diameter. Lay the base on a lightly oiled baking pan (4) and top it with plenty of tomato sauce (5), extra virgin olive oil and the mozzarella, which you can dice or slice (6); bake it in a pre-heated oven at 480°F (250°C) for about 15 minutes. As soon as you take your pizza out of the oven, sprinkle it with basil leaves and serve it immediately.

Words cannot even begin to express how much we adore these photos from Jessica & Ben's wedding! We created their custom aisle runner using monogram 1D, which the couple also used on their ceremony programs. They also used monogram 5C which we created for them on their matches for their cigar bar (yes they had a cigar bar, so cool!) It looks like this wedding was a blast- check out their cool "something blue" drinks, their yummy food, and they even had a photo booth! Be sure to check back on I.D.O. in April as they will be our April Featured Couple, and also when TheKnot Best Of 2009 Weddings hits the stands in April their aisle runner will be featured in it, yay! Congratulations Jessica & Ben!

Guest Blogger: Sasha from Sparkliatti, Part 2

Sometimes it’s okay not to take your wedding too seriously…a case in point is Deanna & Julian.

Guest Blogger: Sasha from Sparkliatti, Part 2
{photos by Anna Kilbridge}

Don’t get me wrong, they wanted their wedding to be stylish and beautiful but they wanted to have a great time doing it. Having a mostly artistic crowd for their wedding, they chose a vineyard with amazing views in the Russian River area of the Northern California Wine Country.

But what Deanna did that was different than most brides is that she made sure
she had an amazing, fun experience that day in addition to providing her guests with the same. Deanna loved being in her wedding gown and her images reflect the fun she had romping around in the vineyards.

Further, we created a photo op wall with frames & wallpaper which was similar to the damask printed table linens. This photo op wall was staffed by a dedicated photographer and the guests (and vendors) had a super fun time in the wall taking images. What I loved most about that wall was that it actually looked like the wall of your house with family photos hung in a variety of frames – but it was alive with the guests from the wedding. So fun.

Everything about the wedding reflected the mix of the vintage glamorous with rustic. By utilizing different shapes in the bouquets, flower girl kissing ball and centerpieces we were able to keep it interesting. They also chose not to serve cake but instead do a variety of pies including the groom’s favorite, Concord Grape pie.

Thank you to Sasha for sharing these beautiful weddings with us! And if you haven't already, you should definitely stop by Sasha Souza Events and Sparkliatti for more gorgeous and creative inspiration!

Title: Alex Jones Tv {Sunday Edition} 1/8:Pelosi "Buy a $15,000 Policy or Go to Jail"

House Committee On Ways & Means Republicans
November 7, 2009
http://prisonplanet.tv/
Today, Ranking Member of the House Ways and Means Committee Dave Camp (R-MI) released a letter from the non-partisan Joint Committee on Taxation (JCT) confirming that the failure to comply with the individual mandate to buy health insurance contained in the Pelosi health care bill (H.R. 3962, as amended) could land people in jail. The JCT letter makes clear that Americans who do not maintain acceptable health insurance coverage and who choose not to pay the bills new individual mandate tax (generally 2.5% of income), are subject to numerous civil and criminal penalties, including criminal fines of up to $250,000 and imprisonment of up to five years.

In response to the JCT letter, Camp said: This is the ultimate example of the Democrats command-and-control style of governing buy what we tell you or go to jail. It is outrageous and it should be stopped immediately.

Key excerpts from the JCT letter appear below:

H.R. 3962 provides that an individual (or a husband and wife in the case of a joint return) who does not, at any time during the taxable year, maintain acceptable health insurance coverage for himself or herself and each of his or her qualifying children is subject to an additional tax. [page 1]

If the government determines that the taxpayers unpaid tax liability results from willful behavior, the following penalties could apply [page 2]

Criminal penalties

Prosecution is authorized under the Code for a variety of offenses. Depending on the level of the noncompliance, the following penalties could apply to an individual:

• Section 7203 misdemeanor willful failure to pay is punishable by a fine of up to $25,000 and/or imprisonment of up to one year.

• Section 7201 felony willful evasion is punishable by a fine of up to $250,000 and/or imprisonment of up to five years. [page 3]

When confronted with this same issue during its consideration of a similar individual mandate tax, the Senate Finance Committee worked on a bipartisan basis to include language in its bill that shielded Americans from civil and criminal penalties. The Pelosi bill, however, contains no similar language protecting American citizens from civil and criminal tax penalties that could include a $250,000 fine and five years in jail.

The Senate Finance Committee had the good sense to eliminate the extreme penalty of incarceration. Speaker Pelosis decision to leave in the jail time provision is a threat to every family who cannot afford the $15,000 premium her plan creates. Fortunately, Republicans have an alternative that will lower health insurance costs without raising taxes or cutting Medicare, said Camp.

According to the Congressional Budget Office the lowest cost family non-group plan under the Speakers bill would cost $15,000 in 2016.

Wine Club and Post 200!

por | | 0 comments

Wine Club and Post 200!Today marks my 200th post and what better way to celebrate than with some wine? We had another meeting of wine club on Wednesday at the drop dead gorgeous home of Wanda and Christina Austin, co-workers of one of our core members. Their home is amazing and this dramatic bar made for a perfect backdrop.

It was Chardonnay night, so chosen because for some reason, most of us really dislike Chardonnays. We thought it was high time to find one we could imagine downing more than once, so we set out to tackle this important issue.

We had:
Wine Club and Post 200!
  • Domaine Alfred Stainless Chardonnay: This was the hands-down favorite. It was effervescent, which I love, and was very fruity and light for a Chardonnay. It didn't have that tart bitterness I associate with Chardonnay, so it was a welcome change.
Wine Club and Post 200!
  • Alice White Chardonnay: This is an inexpensive, Australian Chardonnay that Wanda called her "house wine." It was light and refreshing, perfect to have with a meal.
Wine Club and Post 200!
  • Brampton Unoaked Chardonnay: A South African wine that was lighter and citrusy. It had notes of pineapple that I could actually pick up, as opposed to normal when I just nod and smile.
Wine Club and Post 200!
  • Grand Vin de Bourgogne Chablis: Erica (our wine mistress of ceremonies) taught us that a Chablis from Burgundy is like getting a champagne from Champagne, France — the real deal. This was my pick and was the only one I could find at Total Wine. It was different; it tasted like no other Chardonnay I've ever tried. Erica said its flavors were more pure — sharp, distinct green apple, with a buttery finish. Interesting, but had a tart start.
Wine Club and Post 200!
  • Patrick Javillier Bourgogne: A white burgundy with a sharp bite. Erica taught us that white burgundies should age for three years before consumption, while sweet wines should be served almost immediately.
Wine Club and Post 200!The spectacular bar area at the Austin home.

Wine Club and Post 200!Three generations: Victoria, her daughter and her mother, visiting from Rochester, N.Y.

Wine Club and Post 200!Erica pours a selection for Miranda.

Wine Club and Post 200!Christina and Miranda pose with the crowd favorite.

Wine Club and Post 200!The wine club gang, minus some of our faves who couldn't make the trip across the water due to horrific storms.

Wine Club and Post 200!And to finish, an amazing homemade chocolate cake garnished with fresh fruit. Delicious!

Title: Bottle of Wine by Thomas Cunnigham

This is a song by Thomas Cunningham, a fine young lad who can sing really well. He is good to listen to for a good wave session, even though I have no idea how to surf.Sorry about the end, I did one too many photos. Here are the lyrics:

Timing and its focus
It's what ruins and it dopes us
Reality ain't the same, if you don't play the game
Cause I'm tired and it's hopeless
I'm not beaten, but I'm broken
Words I've never spoken
What do you say? what do you say?
I guess you can't look up to me that way
I guess you can't look up to me that way

Is it fire or is it smoke?
Or should we just go for broke
Here comes boredom and it's useless
I think life should come all inclusive
At least a little less abusive
What do you say? what do you say?
I guess you can't look up to me that way
I guess you can't look up to me that way

The bottle of wine was fine this time
And I really don't think it's changed
The bottle of wine was fine this time.
But oh, how I think you've changed

Timing and its focus
It's what ruins and it dopes us
Reality ain't the same if you don't play the game
Here comes boredom and it's useless
I think life should come all inclusive
At least a little less abusive
What do you say what do you say
I guess you can't look up to me that way
I guess you can't look up to me that way

The bottle of wine was fine this time
And I really don't think it's changed
The bottle of wine was fine this time.
But oh, how I think you've changed [x3]

I don not own this song, nor this photo. I only own the love for this song ;)
